Once again, it’s been a while since I last published a “post” (hmmm, might that be “since I last posted a pub?”) … anyway, I’m here now so let the post begin!

My most recent Suppose you want to “do” something with one of your “smart devices”; you must know the words (terminology) to use when describing what you want to accomplish in order to convey your request to someone who, hopefully, understands and can help you. If only there were am app that could translate our less digitally knowledgeable everyday talk into digitally literate words! (Did you know there ARE apps that translate [on the fly, in real time] from one language to another? Did you know many of them are FREE?!) (Example article below.) These handy little apps work on your smartphone and, as easily as talking to someone on the phone, these apps “listen” to your words and “speak” them in the language of your fellow conversant!

The app translates what you’re saying into the language of the person you’re talking to and vice versa when that person speaks to you! What magic is this! (Think of Doug Adams Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy: Bable Fish.) Did you know Google is developing real-time translations earbuds ?

So, sell your Rosetta Stone stock and forget about learning multiple languages. Spend some time learning to speak “digital” !
